It consists in the degradation and stabilization of organic matter through the process known as aerobic composting. Ingenio Risaralda in the waste resulting from the manufacture of sugar and ethanol as bagasse, cachaça (impurities in cane juice), bagasse ash, leaf and cane vinasse (waste resulting from the distillation of alcohol) are used in this process for the production of organic fertilizers.

A pre-treatment to remove excess moisture is done to the solid waste (cachaça, ash, leaf). When the moisture is suitable, an analysis is done to the composition of each waste and later on the formation of a stack (processing unit) is made, checking through a mass balance its C / N, C / S and its humidity of income. Once the battery is armed, it´s mix and aerate with the BACKHUS, creating the conditions for the growth of microorganisms which decompose the waste to transform it into organic fertilizer.

In the next stage, depending on the humidity of the stack is   added other waste in liquid form called vinasse, which is incorporated into the batteries through daily volts, which controls the temperature and humidity to reach the required proportion of vinasse to produce an excellent organic fertilizer.

After application of vinasse, the stack continuous its process of natural drying, maturation and stabilization. Finally arriving to the area where packaging is sold in packages of 40 pounds and bulk.

Depending on the physical-chemical composition is marketed as Kompostar with the sales-label 4574 ICA, Vycompost with the sales-label ICA 6091, Nutri humic with the sales-label 5496 ICA.

Moreover, the Ingenio Risaralda has the register ICA for the production of organic fertilizer, ensuring its customers a high quality organic product for their crops and soils.
